Chitose Abe‘s sacai imprint has become a household name in the streetwear and sneakers sphere for its striking collaborative projects with Nike, especially its flurry of LDWaffle installments. To further build upon this narrative, the Japanese imprint is hopping its way into the food space by linking arms with culinary collective Ghetto Gastro for a special pop-up cafe in Tokyo.
Customers will be able to treat themselves to a variety of delicious menu items, the main one being the duo’s sole-inspired waffles. Prepared in strawberry, matcha and chocolate flavors and served alongside Harlow ice cream, the toasty treats are shaped to mimic the bottoms of a Nike Waffle silhouette and come debossed with Swoosh logos in the center. Other mouth-watering choices on the deck include crispy fried chicken, corn waffles with caviar and crab salad along with drinks from pop-up partners Blue Bottle Coffee and Rocky’s Matcha.
On top of the food, Ghetto Gastro‘s brand WAVY and sacai have also crafted collaborative tees and tote bags to celebrate the launch. The pop-up will run from December 24-30 at Tokyo Burnside in Harajuku. Previews of the food can be seen in the gallery above.
