Pedro Pascal all smiles during sunny LA day after joining new Matt Damon comedy

Pedro Pascal was beaming as he enjoyed a low-key day in LA, making the most of the sunshine after his new project was announced.

The 48-year-old has become the internet’s husband over the last few months, thanks to his appearances in the Last of Us and the Mandalorian.

He didn’t seem that fussed about his new title as he headed out on Tuesday, smiling widely while running errands.

In new pictures, he showed his support for the LA Lakers in style, donning his favorite bright yellow T-shirt emblazoned with the message: ‘World champions 2000.’

Something tells us that vintage top might just be a sell-out once again, more than two decades later…

Pedro completed the classic look with plain jeans, scuffed trainers and sunglasses.

The Hollywood icon won rave reviews for his stint as Joel Miller in the Last of Us when the HBO series premiered earlier this year, with viewers and video game fans alike completely in awe of his performance.

However, it turns out that the program could have been very different – as Mahershala Ali was reportedly very close to bagging the coveted role instead.

During a recent interview with the Direct, Jeffrey Pierce – who played Joel’s brother Tommy in the video game and appeared as Perry in the TV adaptation – reflected on the early stages of the drama.

Questioned on whether he was in the running to play Tommy again for the TV show, he revealed that Mahershala was in talks to take the lead role.

‘I think initially they had talked to Mahershala Ali about playing Joel, which is an obvious cue that I’m not going to play Tommy…’ he told The Direct.

Aside from the gritty drama, we’ll soon be seeing Pedro flex his comedy muscles once again, in upcoming flick Drive-Away Dolls, beside Matt Damon.

According to IndieWire, the pair will be leading a star-studded cast including Margaret Qualley, Beanie Feldstein and Bill Camp.

Ethan Coen will be helming the flick, and wrote the script with wife Tricia Cooke – marking his first film without brother Joel Coen.

The film is thought to follow Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit, who is dealing with a breakup with a girlfriend, and her pal Marian.

They embark on a spontaneous roadtrip but find themselves in hot water when they cross a group of criminals on their way to Tallahassee.

Bring it on.
