Midorikawa Expriments With Graphic Flourishes for FW21

Shortly after introducing its Vibram FiveFingers Shoe collaboration, Midorikawa has now unveiled its Fall/Winter 2021 collection. As per usual, the Japanese label has developed a full range of wears marked by raw detailing that accents the creation of unique garment expressions that serve as contemporary takes on essential wardrobe staples inspired by the wares of a previous time.

For FW21, Midorikawa has also teamed up with atelier and gallery shop OUT OF MUSEUM on bold graphics flourishes. Featured throughout the collection, illustration by Makoto Kobayashi of OUT OF MUSEUM celebrate both historical and pop culture figures. The print focus is continued on a set of pajama-inspired wares that perfectly encapsulate Midorikawa’s signature striking constructions defined by raw hems and cinched styling. Along with patterned styles that replicate a night sky lit up by stars and corkboard wood, followed by full shearling pieces. Once again, the label has explored the use of leather offering its take on the classic rider jacket marked by an elongated rear panel.

Through its latest display of striking outerwear, refined tops and relaxed bottoms, Midorikawa once again expresses feminine flair through cropped fits for impeccable layering displays that show an understanding of control and subtle design.
