A spinoff in the universe of A Quiet Place is currently in development at Paramount.
According to reports, creator John Krasinski will be stepping down as director and will be handing the reigns over to Mud filmmaker Jeff Nichols. Krasinski, who also co-wrote and helmed the first two films (even starring in the first), will instead serve as producer via his Sunday Night company alongside Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. The plot for the untitled spinoff is based on an original idea from Krasinski and will be connected to the events of the original films, ensuring fans that the forthcoming title will still incorporate the creator’s vision.
The spinoff’s predecessor, A Quiet Place Part II, has been delayed to April 2021 due to COVID-19. The sequel will follow Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) and her children, Regan Abbott (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus Abbott (Noah Jupe), as they continue to fight for survival in the terrifying new world. Krasinski will return for new flashback sequences, and the cast will be joined by Cillian Murphy as Emmett and Djimon Hounsou.
Stay tuned for more info on the spinoff. A Quiet Place Part II hits theaters April 23, 2021.
In other entertainment news, Johnny Depp has been asked to resign from the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
