Strictly Come Dancing duo Katya Jones, 32, and Adam Peaty, 26, were saved by all four judges following a dance-off with Judi Love, 41, and Grazio Di Prima, 27, tonight. Taking to Instagram after the show, the professional dancer described their first bottom two experience as “brutal” as she thanked fans for supporting them.
In view of her 197,000 followers, she began by saying she was “grateful” that the pair got through to next week’s show.
“They don’t call it halloween for nothing, that was scary. Brutal in fact,” she added.
“We rise and this will make us stronger… bring on another week of dance, with my partner in crime @adam_peaty.”
She went on to say that she, as well as Adam’s fans, wanted to see him reach his full potential on the show, with the hope of winning the Glitterball trophy.
“Right, nitro engine is being activated.
“Peaty, it’s time to turn on sport mode on and attack the challenge of the next dance,” she added.
On Saturday night, the dancing duo performed a Viennese Waltz to Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.
Their efforts earned them 29 out of 40 points by the judges.
Head judge Shirley Ballas urged the athlete to work on the positioning of his derriere, while Craig Revel Horwood criticsed the performance for being “laboured”.
Despite the judges’ criticism, viewers flocked to Katya’s post to praise their routine.
Bobby Seagull commented: “So pleased we’ll see you both again next week. Keep working hard team.”
Jenny Moyra wrote: “I was honestly shocked you were in the bottom two.
“The best Halloween themed dance of the night for me! Beautiful music & choreography.”
Julia Conboy penned: “You shouldn’t have been in the dance off, that was a fabulous dance, loved it!”
Kelly Whitelaw Art added: “I LOVED your dance this week. So glad you made it through + looking forward to see you dance next week.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 7.15pm on BBC One.
