Serena Williams is raising her daughter to be a strong young woman.

They stood side by side as Williams, 37, flexed her muscles for the camera, while Alexis attempted to do the same, holding out her fists.

She captioned the photo for her upcoming match: ‘Let the games begin!’

Facing life-threatening conditions during labor, Williams gave birth to Alexis, her first child, in 2017 with husband Alexis Ohanian Sr, 36.

She told Vogue last year: ‘Now that I’m 36 and I look at my baby, I remember that this was also one of my goals when I was little, before tennis took over, when I was still kind of a normal girl who played with dolls.’
