The ‘Black Widow’ actress talks about her nuptials with the ‘Saturday Night Live’ comedian, admitting that organizing the ceremony amid ongoing pandemic was a challenge.
AceShowbiz –Scarlett Johansson found organising her low-key New York wedding in the midst of a pandemic “a little stressful” because there were so many elderly relatives involved.
The “Black Widow” star tied the knot with comedian Colin Jost at her Palisades home in October (20) and, although the celebrations were kept small, dealing with all the COVID restrictions while planning for their big day proved to be a bit of a headache.
Opening up about the special occasion, Johansson told America’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers“, “Obviously we wanted to take all the precautions that we could, so we had the (face) masks… and everybody had to get (COVID) tests like, 100,000 times.”
The happy couple had customised “Jost 2020” face masks to give out to guests, and the actress admits they were an odd addition to the party, “I mean, it’s just weird. Looking back at the photos… it definitely was a weird party favour that could only happen now, but you just gotta go with it (sic).”
It was particularly important for the stars to abide by state COVID restrictions for the wedding because a number of Jost’s family members are in their 90s and therefore considered more high risk, but Johansson insists the nuptials turned out just as the bride and groom had hoped.
“Even though it was small and intimate, it was beautiful and we were so happy to see people that we hadn’t seen in such a long time,” she shared.
“We just felt very fortunate to be able to get together like that. It felt like it was sort of how it was supposed to be… minus face masks!”
Johansson is now reportedly expecting the couple’s first child, a half-sibling for her six-year-old daughter Rose, from her second marriage to Romain Dauriac.
