Rachel Riley, 34, shared with her Instagram followers the claim that the social network platform had continued to allow a video showing a “pro-ISIS execution” to be shared online, as it did not break their “community guidelines”. The Countdown host retweeted a post from the Center for Countering Digital Hate that detailed how Instagram had failed to delete the disturbing content, which also praised the New York terror attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

The CCDH wrote: “NEW: Instagram failed to remove an ISIS propaganda account, which posted execution videos and praise for 9/11, when reported to them.”

Rachel responded: “You have to be kidding. Pro-ISIS execution videos ‘don’t break community guidelines’ says @instagram?

“Shameful. For how long can these jokers go on regulating themselves?”

In the replies section, fans weighed in with their opinions on the topic.

One wrote: “Social media companies are beyond self regulation. They only care about how many likes or clicks something gets no matter how hateful or disgusting it is. “

Another replied: “What kind of community do they want…?”

A third commented: “Social media is completely broken. How is this ever allowable?’

However, according to reports, the content has now been removed.
