Kate Middleton and Prince William are looking for a new housekeeper to join their team at Kensington Palace.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 38, have posted a job advert on the royal vacancies website, where they have highlighted that the ideal candidate will have “discretion” and be able to “maintain confidentiality”.

The advert has described the job as an “exciting opportunity” for someone to work at Kensington Palace.

William and Kate’s online ad describes the ideal candidate as someone who has “an organised approach and takes pride in what you do”.

It continues: “You will be able to manage a varied workload, show initiative, be content to work flexibly, including being able to travel.

“Maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion at all times is paramount.

“This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and positive team. You will be a self-starter who also enjoys working collaboratively.

“You will be keen to take on new challenges as these arise and develop your own knowledge and skills.”

Describing the role, the advert said: “We wish to appoint an experienced person to assist in Royal residences. You will support the management of all housekeeping operations and pro-actively deputise for the Senior Housekeeper, being accountable in their absence.”

The role is mainly based in Kensington Palace, where William and Kate, who recently wowed in red during a royal visit, live with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

People hoping to apply for the job must do so by completing an application on The Royal Household careers website by Saturday 7 November.

It comes after another job announcement earlier this week, which revealed the royal family were on the hunt for housekeeping assistant at Windsor Palace.

The job advert reveals the family are offering an apprenticeship to someone willing to work full time for around £19,000 a year.

A housekeeping assistant would be expected to: “Join our team of Housekeeping professionals; learning on-the-job while you work alongside them to upkeep, clean and care for interiors and items, ensuring they’re presented to their very best.”

The right candidate will receive a Level Two Housekeeping Apprenticeship qualification.

Meanwhile, the employee will be expected to take part in “off-the-job” training which will follow a structure over 13 months.

The advert added: “The variety of work will inspire and challenge you, but we’ll be with you every step of the way. You’ll be assigned a mentor who will support you throughout your apprenticeship, and will make sure you have opportunities to put your learning into practice.

“Through this combination of learning and practice, your confidence will grow. At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll join our permanent team who deliver exceptional standards every day; making this the perfect place to start your career.”
