Lucy Mecklenburgh shares mixed feelings for son Roman in update after A&E dash

Lucy Mecklenburgh has shared her mixed feelings after the latest results of her son Roman's medical tests.

Pregnant Lucy, 30, had a terrifying scare last year when two year old Roman was rushed to hospital, after Lucy found him blue in his cot.

Lucy's son Roman was rushed into intensive care and put on a ventilator before being allowed home after a week.

Since the ordeal, Lucy and her fiancé Ryan Thomas have been taking their son for regular check-ups and tests to get answers.

Lucy and Ryan's son recently went for a videofluoroscopy, a moving X-ray that is taken as a patient consumes fluid, which is used to assess swallowing ability.

Sharing Roman's health update with her 1.7million Instagram followers on Saturday morning, Lucy explained in a video: "A lot of you were asking about Roman's test yesterday mainly parents that might have similar issues with their children and wondering why he went for this test and what it is, what it means.

"Basically, it was to check there wasn't any fluids when he drinks – it basically is going down the wrong way and going to his lungs.

"I honestly thought it wasn't going to show that so I kept my days work in a Roman went with Ryan, he's fine with Ryan anyway but I just like to be at all the appointments."

Former TOWIE star Lucy added: "Ryan rang me and said it was showing there is fluid going into his lungs."

She went on: "I feel really weird about it because…I'm sad for Roman.

"Now, from Monday, when we pick up the thickener, he can't have any thin fluids for quite a long time – potentially years.

"So no lollies and ice-creams, no water or juice. Everything has to be a really thick consistency to stop it entering his lungs.

"But we have an answer. Maybe it's not the full picture, we don't know yet because we've not seen his consultant, but it's something."

Lucy concluded: "It's a step forward and is something we can deal with and it's something that will hopefully stop him getting so sick.

"It's a positive in a way, because we've got a little bit closer to the answer."

Pregnant Lucy then planted a kiss on on her smiling son's cheek as he sat in his highchair and ate some food.
