"Mils will shed her tears and it is difficult for me to helplessly watch. But I know deep down nothing will diminish her beautiful smile long term, she is too much of a 'Happy Soul'.

"Millie has a large loving family and a fab group of friends behind her for support.

"We are all so proud of her. XX"

He added: "I would also like to say…please be kind to all participants of the show with your comments online, they have feelings, families and friends too. #bekindplease"

Millie is incredibly close to her father Rob – who goes by 'Courty' on his social media accounts – and the proud dad has been keeping up-to-date with all things Love Island, frequently posting updates on his Instagram grid.

Rob, who previously gave potential son-in-law Liam the "thumbs up", appeared to be very protective of his daughter on Instagram after the ITVBe show released an explosive first look of Wednesday's episode and teased Millie's reaction after receiving a postcard from Casa Amor.

The 50 year old dad, who is a neon artist, shared a piece of his work which read, 'it is what it is', captioned: "Might be a tough watch for me tonight on Love Island?.. we will see! It is what it is."
