Former BBC Breakfast anchor Louise Minchin became the fifth campmate to leave the I’m A Celebrity castle last night. The star appeared on Good Morning Britain today, where she surprised presenters Adil Ray and Kate Garraway with her idea for a new project away from TV.
Adil was particularly shocked to find that Louise, 53, seemed to have taken some inspiration from her life inside the castle.
Speaking to the ex-BBC Breakfast presenter, Adil said: “I mean you left BBC Breakfast after such a long time. Surprised many, I think, by going into the castle.
“What’s next for Louise? What have you got your eye on?” he asked.
Speaking firstly about her time on I’m A Celebrity, Louise responded: “Well first thing is I always wanted to do the programme, so this seemed like a perfect year to do it.
“I love that it was in Wales apart from the cold, which has been relentless, let’s say.”
Turning her attention to future projects, Louise opened up about her ideas for something quite unexpected.
“What’s next? I don’t know what’s next. I’ve got lots of ideas,” she said.
“I want to write a book. I want to write a murder mystery set in a reality TV show in a castle. That’s what I’d like to do.”
Upon hearing that the former presenter was hoping to follow in Agatha Christie’s footsteps, both GMB hosts did a double-take.
“Blimey! Hang on…” exclaimed Adil, while Kate cheekily asked: “Who’s the victim?”
“Who are you thinking of murdering?” Adil added in jest.
At this point, Louise paused and shrugged with a grin.

“I don’t know yet! I haven’t decided,” she replied, breaking into laughter.
“So that idea just came, did it, while you were on the show?” Adil teased.
“I’ve got lots of ideas!” Louise insisted, dodging the implication of the remark.
Taking part in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! has been the first major role that Louise has secured since leaving BBC Breakfast earlier this year.
Following her elimination last night, the star was asked which of her campmates she would now like to see win the series.
She said: “It’s something I’ve been thinking about overnight. As I left, I gave Frankie [Bridge] a hug and I said, ‘Go and win this.’
“I absolutely love her. I think she’s funny, she’s strong, she gets involved in everything, she never complains, she never moans.
“I absolutely loved spending time with her and also my other kind of top favourite who I’ll be voting for is Simon [Gregson].”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
