Linda Nolan took to Twitter last night to pay tribute to her “dear friend” Elizabeth Emmett, who died yesterday. The singer told her 9,184 followers that she will miss her “thoughtful” and “caring” pal everyday, in a loving post.

The 61-year-old singer wrote online: “My wonderful, dear friend Elizabeth Emmett passed away today. I am devastated.”

“For those who’ve read my book From My Heart, you’ll know Liz and I had a fabulous relationship full of laughter and fun.

“We made so many happy memories together,” she went on to say.

Linda revealed that Elizabeth was there for her following the death of her sister Bernie back in 2013, and helped arrange an event in her memory.

Her tweet continued: “Me and my family will be forever grateful to her for remembering Bernie by organising the Bernie Nolan Ball, which brought family, friends and fans together…

“But that was Liz; thoughtful, caring, generous, making sure everyone else was happy and had what they needed.

“Stubborn as a mule, she always got what she wanted. She will be with her daughters and ‘her sailor’, Her Dad, Keith Senior.

“I love you Liz and I will miss you every day,” Linda signed off with love.

Many took to the comments section of her post to share their condolences.

“Heartbroken for you. What wonderful memories she has left you all,” one follower wrote.

“So very sorry Linda, you were lucky to have such a wonderful friend,” a second added.

A third remarked: “So sorry to hear your very sad news, I know Liz was a great friend to you, she showed her love for you by her actions not just her words.

“A great lady, I know how much you will miss her. Big hug on its way to you.”

Earlier in the week it was revealed that Linda and her sister Anne are set to release a joint memoir about their cancer fight.

The book, titled Stronger Together, will be available to buy in April.

The siblings were diagnosed with cancer days apart last year.

Anne, 70, has stage three breast cancer, while Linda has incurable secondary breast cancer.

A tweet from The Nolans account on Monday revealed the news.

“In April, it will be exactly a year since Linda & Anne found out they would be battling cancer together.

“One year and a global pandemic later… They’re ready to tell the FULL story in their book, Stronger Together.”
