Justin Bieber was working hard to secure a number one debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with his comeback song “Yummy,” but he has to settle for number two.
The 25-year-old singer has been campaigning all week long in an effort to reach number one, but newcomer Roddy Rich just ascended to the top spot with his song “The Box.”
Roddy Rich‘s debut album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial also just went back to number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. This makes him the first artist since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper had the number one on both charts at the same time in March 2019.
Justin‘s song “Yummy” is number one on the Digital Song Sales chart with 71,000 copies sold and it launches at number two on the Streaming Songs chart with 29.3 million streams for the week.
This is the best sales week for a song since Taylor Swift‘s “You Need to Calm Down” sold 79,000 copies in June 2019.
