“If you’re fortunate enough to have already paid off your student loans or make too much money to qualify, it’s still possible to be happy for people receiving some much needed relief. So many are weighed down by this debt. Let’s celebrate the relief and then work toward making college affordable (or even FREE!) for everyone. It doesn’t have to be this way. Other countries don’t force people to be in debt for a lifetime to get an education.” —John Legend

“Canceling student debt is a tax on the most responsible people in the country. Forcing people who worked hard to repay their loans or those who didn’t have the luxury of going to college, to subsidize people who wasted $$$ on worthless gender study degrees is a slap in the face.” –Donald Trump Jr.

“Let’s have a nuanced debate on student loans, the cost of college, personal responsibility, & structural inequality. But if you’re raging against ‘government bailouts,’ you may want to do a little Googling. A long list of groups have demanded handouts. First up: Wall Street.” –Dan Rather
