Jess Wright shares heartfelt tribute to Nanny Pat on what would have been her 85th birthday

Jess Wright has shared a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother Nanny Pat on what would have been her 85th birthday.

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Jess, 35, shared as series of touching throwback photos of herself with her late grandmother, including a snap of when she sung to her Nan in a sweet moment on TOWIE.

The first snap shows Jessica, who recently showed off her incredible Christmas decorations, in a green ruffled skirt as she poses alongside her Nan, who is sitting in a garden chair.

Another photo shows a group of men laughing as Nanny Pat, who died in 2015, wagging her finger as she drives off in a mobility scooter.

The third snap sees Jess and Nanny Pat smiling and chatting away in a kitchen as the fourth sees the pair at the film premier for Hop in 2011.

As she shared the sweet photos of herself and her beloved nan with her 1.4million followers, Jess penned a loving tribute to her grandmother in the caption.

She wrote: “Happy heavenly birthday to my Nanny” followed by a balloon emoji.

Jess continued: “85 you would have been today, can’t believe it’s been 5 years. Love you, hope you’re having a shandy with grandad” followed by four red heart emojis.


The star’s tribute received more than 19,000 likes from fans, while her former TOWIE cast mates also paid tribute to Nanny Pat.

Mario Falcone, who recently broke his silence on his mystery operation, wrote: “What a woman” followed by a red heart emoji.

And Gemma Collins added: “Aww lovely lady Jessica she’s always with you” followed by a series of pink heart emoji.

And Bobby Norris said: “Happy Birthday Nanny Pat. She was a very special lady” followed by a red heart emoji.

Nanny Pat passed away at the age of 80 of 16th December 2015.

A spokesperson released a statement at the time of her death, which read: “Sadly our amazing, courageous and beautiful Nanny Pat passed away this morning after a short illness.

“We are overwhelmed by sadness, and the whole family ask for privacy at this horrible time.”

TOWIE recently paid tribute to Nanny Pat in their TOWIE Turns 10 special, where they replayed the touching moment Jessica sun her nan’s favourite song, Make You Feel my Love by Adele, during her glam 80th birthday celebrations.

The ITVBe show’s viewers shared their heartbreak as they watched the show earlier this year.

One wrote: “In tears here watching nanny Pat” another added: “honestly nanny pat made the old towie episodes so jokes, bless her”.

While a third said: “Crying at Jessica Wright singing for Nanny Pat on Towie such a legend #nannypat #TOWIE10”.
