Jennifer Garner celebrates birthday and receives hometown key
Jennifer Garner, 51, was moved to tears when she celebrated her birthday on The Drew Barrymore Show.
The Hollywood actress was left speechless when she received back-to-back gifts and multiple surprises from her longtime pal.
Drew told her guest: “I mean, we mentioned that it’s your birthday today, but I think we need to kick it up a notch.
“Let’s get a change of birthday scenery … hit it!”
With that balloons started dropping from the ceiling, leaving Jennifer to call Drew “bananas”.
The E.T. actress later presented Garner with a “very meaningful” honour from her hometown of Charleston, West Virginia.
She announced: “From here on out, April 17 will be known as Jennifer Garner Day in Charleston.”
Charleston’s mayor, Amy Goodwin, joined the stars via a video message, presenting Garner with a key to the city along with her own holiday thanks to her “commitment to the arts, passion for West Virginia and giving spirit”.

The 13 Going On 30 star also donated $25,000 to Save The Children for the charity’s children betterment program.
She later explained how growing up surrounded by poverty taught her the importance of giving back from a young age.
She said: “I saw a way to be helpful to our kids. My mom grew up really poor in rural Oklahoma, and I grew up in West Virginia. … I was middle class and surrounded by generational rural poverty.
“People kept coming to me to do all these incredible things all over the world — and it all needs to happen, thank God for anyone who has a heart for philanthropy — but I was saying, ‘Who’s helping kids in America?’
“This is a huge country, and most of it is rural, so those kids are suffering, and who is helping them?”
Jennifer shares her three children, Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11, with her ex-husband Ben Affleck.
The former couple announced they were separating in June 2015, with their divorce being finalised three years later.
The Argo actor and director has gone on to marry Jennifer Lopez, while Jennifer has been dating businessman John Miller on and off over the last five years.
