I’m A Celebrity campmates gobsmacked as ‘hideous’ invader enters the campsite

I'm A Celebrity may be coming to an end but it hasn't stopped an invader entering the campsite.

On Saturday's episode of the jungle series, the campmates were left gobsmacked when a 'hideous' reptile sauntered into their living space.

The invasion took the campmates by surprise as they soaked up the sun in their hammocks before noticing a metre long goanna scuttled into camp – after being attracted to the food waste bin.

The scaly creature, named Lennie, poked his nose in the bin – which caught the groups attention.

As Lennie rummaged in the bin, Roman Kemp entertained the others as he performed David Attenborough and Ant impressions.

Shortly after inspecting the contents of the waste, the goanna pulled out a pieced of kangaroo tail – leftover from the evening before.

“Go on you’ve done it that’s a meal for camp, now all you’ve got to do is digest it” joked Roman as the reptile attempted to put the whole piece of tail in his mouth.

“He’s trying to eat it they can dislocate their jaw. I have never seen anything like that in my life.”

Jacqueline Jossa and Roman were left gobsmacked as Lennie took the bone to a nearby rock and forced it into his mouth and eventually down his throat.

“It was the most fascinating thing to watch, he was twisting his neck and doing like weird yoga moves just to digest the food, kind of like James Haskell used to do,” told Roman.

Jacqueline said: “That was ugly and hideous to watch but I couldn’t turn away.”

*The I'm A Celebrity final airs tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
