Royal expert Duncan Larcombe has compared Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle to former president Donald Trump, insisting that the prince cares more about headlines than details.

The accusation comes after it was revealed that Prince Harry's previous claims he had been financially cut off from his family in the first quarter of 2020 were untrue.

The Prince of Wales' annual report, which was released by Clarence House on Wednesday, showed how he gave a cut of £4.45 million to the Sussexes and the Cambridges.

"It's indisputable proof that Harry's allegations that his family cut him off in the first quarter were not true," royal expert Duncan exclusively tells OK!

"Harry doesn't appear to care about the details, as long as he gets the headline in. Harry and Meghan have become like Donald Trump with the media.

"If you agree with them, fine, but if you don't, you're fake news. The problem with Harry and Meghan now is they're playing with fire. When one claim is disproven, it casts doubts on the rest."

And Duncan tells OK! that the releasing of these official documents was not a vindictive move on Prince Charles' part.

"Charles has released his finances to the public since the 90s. It's to be transparent with the public about spending.

"It wasn't done as a vindictive move to prove Harry and Meghan wrong. But it does show that the truth will come out."

The money was listed as "funding the activities” for the royal brothers and their families, but palace sources refused to reveal the precise amount given to Prince Harry, 36, and his wife Meghan, 39, who welcomed their daughter Lilibet on 4 June.

It is believed the money was sent to support the growing family for the first four months of their “transition period” out of the royal family.

Following the annual report, it is thought that Prince Harry will no longer receive financial support from his father as he and his family explore a life independent from the royal family.
