Reece Dinsdale played Coronation Street villain Joe McIntyre in 2008, before moving on to play the role of Vinny Dingle’s father Paul Ashdale on Emmerdale in 2020.
Now, the former soap actor has said he has "not got a pot left to p**s in" after his soap exits.
Reece, 63, told his fans he has far from a "lavish lifestyle", revealing he has been left low on money after departing Corrie and Emmerdale.
Announcing he has bought a motorhome in order to travel around the country, he wrote on Twitter: "We don’t live a lavish lifestyle… far from it.
“Today I invested all my savings into my dream machine. Not got a pot left to p**s in… but the dreams are now endless!”
One fan wrote to Reece: "Omg! Congratulations," before another said: "Wow, that will be worth every penny."
While Reece quit Emmerdale in 2021, the star recently returned as a director for their hour-long specials.
"I’m off to try to get some kip. Start shooting a new block of Emmerdale early tomorrow," he wrote, surprising his fans on Twitter.
"No matter how many times you do it, you’re always a little nervous & apprehensive for your first day. I guess it’s a good thing. The day I don’t feel that… will be the day I give it up.”
He then explained by adding: “For those of you who enjoy your Emmerdale, you might be interested to hear that the two one hour episodes that I recently directed will be shown on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. I’m very proud of them. Hope you enjoy!”
Many waded in to express their thoughts, with one writing to Reece: "Tonight was absolutely amazing! So I’m sure tomorrow’s will be amazing as well! X."
"Looking forward to watching Reece can't wait," another said, before adding a thumbs up emoji.
Reece then gave a glimpse into behind-the-scenes of making the soap, after one asked: "How much time do you get to rehearse with actors on a thrice-weekly soap, Reece?"
He replied: "Next to no time."
While the star has returned to Emmerdale as a director, he is said to also be making a return to the Cobbles 12 years after his character was killed off the soap.
In April, he said on Twitter: "I start #Corrie for real tomorrow. Proper grown-up meeting with the script team over in Manchester. First time I’ve been back there in twelve years! Both nervous and excited. Wouldn’t have it any other way."
He continued in another tweet: "Just spent a fantastic couple of days at an old stomping ground of mine. Reacquainted myself with many friends and familiar faces… and met a quite few new ones into the bargain. Thank you @itvcorrie for making this old boy so welcome!"
