Ferne McCann ditches big wedding for ‘intimate low-key’ affair in French Riviera

Ferne McCann is planning a low-key wedding day this year after ditching her desire to go all out with her nuptials, we can reveal.

The 32-year-old got engaged to her fiancé Lorri Haines in July last year, and a source tells us that the reality star has shifted her focus away from a big wedding and is instead making the day all about her family and friends.

“While Ferne has said to friends that of course every girl dreams about that huge, big wedding, she is at the stage now where she just wants her nearest and dearest there,” a source told us . “She would love that.”

Back in August, Ferne said the pair were planning to tie the knot in 2023 somewhere other than the UK.

“We would definitely get married abroad. We met each other abroad and love travelling together,” Ferne said.

And our source tells us that Ferne is still considering a big day abroad but she wants a more intimate affair than previously planned.

“She may go abroad but she is wanting to keep it a bit more low-key and much more intimate and focus on the friends and family that she’ll have there,” they added of the former TOWIE star, who now has her own ITVBe show, First Time Mum, with Lorri and her daughter Sunday, five.

It’s thought Ferne and Lorri have their sights set on saying “I do” in the French Riviera after Ferne started following Chloé Atlan, an award-winning wedding planner based in Cannes who runs Aava Wedding.

Both Chloé’s Instagram and website feature a series of stunning images of weddings taking place in French châteaus, while the website states that Aava Wedding is “the leader in the luxury wedding planning industry on the French Riviera”.

France also holds a special place in the couple’s heart as it’s where they got engaged after businessman Lorri got down on one knee on a beach in Le Touquet.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Ferne wrote, “So happily ever afters do exist. I cannot wait to do forever with you baby,” alongside a love heart and a French flag emoji.

Ferne’s U-turn on her nuptials comes after she received an unwavering amount of support from Lorri and her family after voice notes leaked allegedly featuring her voice talking disparagingly about Sam Faiers and Billie Shepherd, and one of the victims of her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins’ 2017 acid attack.

Ferne released a statement apologising to Sophie Hall for her comments and insisted the voice notes had been “manipulated, edited and taken out of context”, and she had said things to “protect” her family.
