Emily Ratajkowski's Backless Dress is Straight Out of the Early 2000s

Who better to uncover some long-forgotten early 2000s styles than Emily Ratajkowski? The supermodel has revived cargo pants, low-rise jeans, crochet dresses, and now, the midi halter dress. It may be December, but Emily paid no mind to the freezing temps in a slinky, backless party dress that’s singlehandedly bringing boho back.

The model, who was recently linked to Pete Davidson following his split from Kim Kardashian and her split from husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, attended the 2022 Moet & Chandon Holiday Celebration at the Lincoln Center in New York. Pete was nowhere in sight, which might have to do with recent reports that the two are “keeping their romance casual” and just focusing on having “a good time together.”

Emily arrived at the holiday fête in a bohemian slip dress with a beaded halter neckline curated by Marie Laboucarié of Nina Gabbana Vintage. The model looked radiant as she showed off the deep dip and open back of her dress and posed for photos against a Moet & Chandon step-and-repeat.

The pink and purple ombré dress, a vintage piece from Roberto Cavalli Fall 2004, featured unique mixed prints in velvet burnout and metallic gold — and if you have an extra $1,800 laying around somewhere, you can snag EmRata’s exact dress for yourself on the Nina Gabbana Vintage website.

Emily wore a pair of tall silver lace-up sandals to complete her free spirit vibe, along with dangling earrings and a simple chain necklace. She leaned into the sunburnt blush trend with a healthy flush across her nose and cheekbones, tying in similar sunset shades through a wash of amber eyeshadow.

“Felt pretty last night so I’m posting these 🫶,” the My Body author wrote in the caption of her Instagram post, thanking photographers Sansho and Mike Vitelli who presumably took the photos.

“Does Pete Davidson approve the fit,” joked one fan in the comments. “You are pretty every night 😍” chimed in Isla Fisher.

Her early aughts midi-length dress complete with lace-up sandals signals that the Y2K craze is far from over, so don’t put away your butterfly clips and Juicy Couture tracksuits just yet! We’ll be keeping EmRata’s boho vibes in mind with formal szn and prom szn coming up soon…
