EastEnders star Letitia Dean admitted she had ‘anxiety’ about returning to work after lockdown

EastEnders legend Letitia Dean admitted that she was suffering from "anxiety" at the thought of going back to work.

The 52-year-old headed back to the soap's set to film Secrets from the Square and she described it as "weird" and describing the usually busy set as a "ghost town".

In an interview with Woman's Own magazine, the star said: "Doing Secrets from the Square with Stacey Dooley was really great.

"It was weird because it was like a ghost town, but I'm glad I did it because I had anxiety about going back in."

Talking about lockdown Letitia revealed that it felt like "a bit of a holiday" in the beginning, but as time went on it grew "difficult".

The actress, who plays Sharon Watts, also talked about how her elderly parents, who live with her, have found the coronavirus pandemic "scary"

Dishing some secrets on what we can expect when the soap comes back to our screens, Letitia said lockdown will be addressed in EastEnders.

"Sharon, Ian and baby Kayden have been living there in their own little bubble and, slowly, things are getting back to normal.

"There aren't that many people allowed in The Vic, so it's given me some space to find my feet again. I love working with Adam [Woodyatt]

EastEnders will officially return to screens on Monday, September 7.

From then on, the soap will be airing four nights a week at the slightly shorter length of twenty minutes.
