Melissa Suffield, 26, who is known for her soap career on Albert Square, has announced the news that she gave birth to her first child two days ago. The TV star welcomed her baby boy into the world with fiancé Robert Brendan after confirming that they were expecting a baby in September.

Melissa spoke out on Instagram today as she wrote to her 10,000 followers: “River Jefferson Carter-Robinson 16 03 2020.”
The Lucy Beale actress added: “What a perfect little human we appear to have made. We could not be more obsessed with you.”
After the EastEnders star revealed their first pictures of baby River, fans rushed to comment on her post to congratulate them both.
One wrote to the family of three: “Congratulations to you both he is so gorgeous,” while another added: “Yay. Amazing news to see in all of this doom and gloom.

“Congratulations to you both. He’s perfect. Enjoy being a family,” a third wrote.
Reflecting on Melissa being overdue, another wrote: “About time lol. Big congrats!”
Another fan who commented on Melissa’s post said: “Congratulations. I got the date right!”
Melissa has been documenting her pregnancy on her Instagram and her parenting blog along the way.
In September it was confirmed the pair were expecting baby River as Melissa expressed her pregnancy thoughts on her blog.
She wrote: “Cellulite everywhere. Like, a**e, arms, thighs, even my knees. It is VERY annoying.”
Melissa also revealed on her blog she is a ‘Mama Ambassador’ for the Natural Birthing Company.
The actress told her readers: “Well, aren’t I a lucky ducky.

“I’m really excited to announce that I am now a Mama Ambassador for the amazing Natural Birthing Company!”, Melissa added.
She then went on to talk about the company and the products she would be promoting in the future.
Melissa said: “The products are all made using natural ingredients, packaged beautifully, and most important, pregnancy and postpartum safe.”
The 26-year-old’s acting career kicked off when Melissa joined the Beale family as Ian Beale’s daughter, Lucy, in 2004.

The star who joined the BBC soap when she was just 11-years-old at the time, left the show in 2010.
Melissa met her now-fiancé, Robert, in 2017 when the pair were performing alongside each other in the production of Beauty and the Beast.
Last summer, the mother-of-one announced that she was engaged to Robert on her Instagram page.
She wrote in July: “#[email protected]”
