Ariana Grande seen for first time since body-shaming plea as she shops in London

Ariana Grande was seen for the first time since she took to social media to hit out at body-shamers while encouraging people to be "be gentle" to one another.

The 29 year old Thank U, Next singer looked happy and relaxed as she went shopping in London's famous Bond Street while donning a pair of straight-leg blue jeans and an oversized black jacket from The North Face.

Ariana wore a yellow baseball hat atop her blonde tresses and kept things cool with a pair of quirky white shades. Toting her essentials in a cross-body bag, Ariana opted for maximum comfort as she strolled along in a pair of comfortable white platform shoes.

Despite her international superstar status, the former Nickelodeon star went relatively unnoticed on one of the British capital's busiest streets as she hit the shops. On one occasion, she was seen inside a store trying on a glamorous midi-skirt and chic black stiletto heels.

Her low-key shopping appearance comes after she released a video to social media saying that she "wanted to address" concerns about her body that the public has been talking about for a "decade or longer".

Ariana spoke on TikTok and told fans: "I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people's bodies, no matter what.

"If you think you're saying something good or well-intentioned, whatever it is, healthy or unhealthy, big or small, this or that, sexy or not sexy, we should really work towards not doing that as much.

"There are ways to compliment someone or to ignore something you see that you don't like. I think we should help each other work towards just being safer and keeping each other safer."

The singer then candidly opened up about the "unhealthiest version" of herself that people have been comparing her current body to.

Ariana stated: "Personally, for me, the body that you've been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body.

"I was on a lot of anti-depressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my health, but that, in fact, wasn't my healthy."

She stated that there are many ways to look beautiful and healthy and that she hoped something good could come from her being open with her fans.

Ariana continued: "You never know what someone is going through, so even if you're coming from a loving place or a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they're working on it with.

"Sending you guys a lot of love, and I think you're beautiful no matter what you're going through, no matter what weight, no matter how you like to do your makeup these days, no matter what cosmetic procedures you've had or not or anything."

Ariana, who is also an actress, is set to star as Glinda Upland in the upcoming Wicked film based on the hit musical of the same name that is inspired by L Frank Baum’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Her last album was Positions, her sixth record, released in October 2020, which was a British number one.
